Limited License Professional Counselor

Hello on this blessed day!

Life can really be difficult to navigate! We live in a chaotic and broken world. Sometimes life jumps up and knocks the wind out of our lungs!

Society often tries to make us believe that we should be superhuman and handle it all on our own. Can I tell you a secret?

That’s a lie.

Sometimes we need some extra help to break down the barriers, and it takes a lot of courage to seek it out. That’s why I’m glad you made it here to my page!

My role as your therapist is not to rescue anyone. I empower my clients to confidently navigate through challenges on their own! I provide the support you need along the way.

As your therapist, I help you identify your triggers and the reactions/behaviors/thoughts to those triggers. Then we explore multiple coping skills to see which of them will fit you personally (as not a one-size-fits-all).

I assist you with developing a “toolbox” of coping skills that you can pull out whenever you start feeling those triggers. Whether it is just a bump on the road to running from that rock avalanche to riding that wave, you will be able to pull out those “tools” to help get you through it.

Who am I? Well, I am a strong Christian woman who has worked in the mental health field in various roles since 2009. I have worked in the areas of spiritual/Christian counseling and coaching, community mental health, street outreach, a prison, two different inpatient rehabs (eating disorders and substance abuse). I also currently work in the school system as a behavioral mental health therapist.

I primarily utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, a solution-focused approach, motivational interviewing, play and art therapy, and client-centered therapy.

Education, Training, and Certifications: Master of Arts in Mental Health, CACREP, Limited License Professional Counselor (LLPC) with the State of Michigan, and Qualified Mental Health Provider

Specialties: Children/adolescents, PTSD-trauma, crisis, abuse, domestic violence, church hurt, and trafficking. I’m also experienced with depression, anxiety, panic disorders, women in life transition (menopausal or puberty), post-hospitalization, suicidal, and self-harming behaviors.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28
